- Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and baking powder. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.
- Combine Ingredients: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Shape the Donuts: Roll the dough on a lightly floured surface to about ½ inch thickness. Cut donut shapes with a cutter.
- Fry the Donuts: Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C). Fry donuts for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Make the Glaze: Mix powdered sugar with a bit of milk or water until smooth.
- Sprinkle: Dip each donut into the glaze while still warm, then immediately sprinkle with your choice of toppings.
Notes
For extra flavor, try adding cinnamon or nutmeg to the dough. Also, feel free to experiment with flavored glazes or different types of sprinkles like confetti or chocolate chips.
